After spending three years as the Irish Football Editor with Setanta Sports, he moved into freelance reporting before linking with both the Irish Daily Mail and Sunday Tribune.
Along with his work for the aforementioned publications, he is also the Irish-based football correspondent for ESPN, Inside Futbol, Calcio Italia, Kick Off, 90 Minutes, and Yanks Abroad.
Having earned a BA (Hons) in Journalism & Media Studies, Gareth is always staying busy with his different blogs and columns, while also contributing to projects like Nike's Joga Bonito campaign in 2005, where he acted as its Dublin reporter.
Gareth has emerged as one of the top Irish football journalists due to his indepth knowledge of the game, the extensive contacts that he has built up, and the passion he has showed in covering both the domestic and international side of Irish football.
He is a member of the Soccer Writers Association of Ireland (SWAI), recently completed a Diploma in Sports Psychology, and is working on a number of projects that he hopes will be unveiled later in the year.
